On Futility

OR Terminally Online Kink Discourse Gives Me Migraines Twitter is an addiction. There, I said it. Admitting to having a problem is often the first step to recovery, but social media has a vice grip on my soul, as a way to connect with others in an increasingly isolating world, but also as an irreplaceable part of my kink journey. I wouldn’t be where I am without it, I wouldn’t have met the people I’ve met without it, and so I must tribute towards the unpayable debt that the monsters of Silicon Valley have saddled me with through giving it my unbridled attention. But with that comes tradeoffs. For every hot man I come across, every OnlyFans trailer that pops on my feed, are reminders of the world outside my bubble. Often times those reminders are from folks that reside outside of my bubble of kink and androphilic homosexuality, and they sure have a lot to say about the goings-on in these necks of the woods, especially around kink, Leather, and the nature of Pride (with a capital P.) The...

A Reflection on a Leather Getaway

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?      I’ll admit that I haven’t been as active on this blog as I wanted or should be. I got a ton of drafts and yet none have truly been finished, but seeing as the subject matter of this post is so recent, I feel the need to get something out there while it’s still fresh.       As I’m writing I’m still in the comedown from a weekend at LA Leather Getaway, an event held by the CLAW Staff in Los Angeles, California over Thanksgiving weekend. While this was the third event they’ve held in the city of angels, this is my second time attending. And it was incredible. As a bootblack I was not only treated very well by the event, but had an enjoyable time working the stands and shooting the breeze with some amazing LA bootblacks; I really felt welcome around them and was thankful that they tolerated all of my jokes, but I digress. I got to reconnect with some wonderful Leatherfolk, smoke a few cigars, and also meet some new people...

On Bodies

OR A Battle Between Working With What You Have and Idolizing What You Don't... And Losing CW: Discussions of various mental health-related topics, and some of it gets a bit dark. You have been warned.      This is a Bear Pride flag hanky. There is no formal meaning of a Bear Pride flag in hanky code terms, and while some may see the trees and not the forest (which considering the colors on the Bear Pride flag is... interesting,) I've personally took it to mean, at least in the right pocket, to suggest an interest in Bears.      I don't remember exactly when the switched flipped, but as I was starting to realize I was into wrestling, I began to gravitate towards the burlier, the bulkier, the manlier men. Guys like Stan Hansen, Arn Anderson, A-Train. The hairier and beefier the better. As I made my way to Tumblr, turns out the Gays™ had a term for this type of man: Bears. Combined with my fascination with Leather, cigars, etc. a picture began to form of the t...

Let's Get Started, Shall We?

Test 1-2, Test 1-2, is this thing on? No, that’s cheesy… Hello World! Way to go, a programming joke, you don’t even program.  …some other cliche to signal the start of something.  Indecisiveness? Now that’s creative.       Welcome to, what is for me, at least, uncharted territory. And obviously, considering this may be the first post you read, it certainly is for you as well. I guess I should introduce myself and answer the all-important question of “what even is this?”      Well, my name is unimportant, at least for the present moment. I go by thingnstuffs on pretty much any social media I’m on. What started as a bit of a blank slate name for a Tumblr blog of a horny young adult became the identity I carried with me for years of voyeuristic sexual exploration and finding myself before finally starting to communicate with others in these spaces around this time last year. I’d grow substantially in the year to come, experienced a lot, met some...
